A Tribe Called Quest’s Phife Dawg – RIP
News broke early Wednesday morning that Malik Isaac Taylor A.K.A. Phife Dawg, one third of the legendary A Tribe Called Quest, passed away at age 45. Details regarding the cause of death are unknown at this time.
Phife and Tribe had an immense affect on most musicians from my generation. Phife reached out to the hip hop youth and culture expressing though provoking as well as witty lyrics. Phife made hip hop fun and smart. He will be missed.
